I am currently studying the female proteins that associate with sperm as it travels through the female reproductive tract in Drosophila melanogaster. I am particularly interested in understanding how these proteins mediate reproductive success and keep sperm healthy as it transitions to a novel environment. I also hope to characterize fertility defects that occur in the absence of these proteins to better understand their individual roles.
