jac655@cornell.edu

B. S. Microbiology from UC Berkeley

Ph.D. Genome Sciences, University of Washington

Jolie studies male x female interactions mediating reproductive phenotypes. Specifically, she studies the evolution and function of seminal fluid proteins and the female genes that mediate post mating responses. Her primary projects are investigating female genetic variation that contributes to mating plug ejection timing and the evolution and function of the seminal fluid protein ovulin. During her PhD, Jolie studied the biochemical mechanism of species-specific gamete recognition in abalone.
