During mating in Drosophila melanogaster, the male transfers seminal fluid proteins (SFPs) to the female fly’s bursa.  A subset of these SFPs form the mating plug which facilitates sperm storage.  My research project aims to better understand how males can control mating plug ejection through their SFPs which can impact reproductive outcomes.
