Enisa uses the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster to study important reproductive processes. More precisely, she studies the female molecules implicated during reproduction and sees how they affect the behavior and the physiology of mated and unmated females. These molecules are important for fertility in all species, including humans. Her primary projects are to investigate and to study the role of different families of proteins. During her PhD, she studied the implication of an odorant-binding proteins (OBPs) in precopulatory behavior and interaction with the bacterial microbiota.
